VIA Rail, Amtrak and GO Transit all provide service to Niagara Falls as of 2015. VIA Rail offers service from Toronto, Canada, while Amtrak's Empire Service line provides service from New York City and Albany. GO Transit operates a seasonal train from Toronto's Union Station to Niagara Falls during summer.
Although GO train service only operates between May and September, GO Transit does operate buses year-round between Toronto and Niagara Falls, offering daily service. The summer GO train only runs on weekends and holidays. This includes one Friday evening train.
Although these train routes end at Niagara Falls, they also pass through the Hudson River Valley and other wine-producing regions. En route to Niagara Falls, VIA Rail stops in the Canadian cities of Oakville, Aldershot, Grimsby and St. Catherines. Amtrak passes through Syracuse, Rochester and Buffalo.
