The top cities in the United States for tourism are Orlando, Florida; New York City, New York; Chicago, Illinois; Anaheim, California; and Miami, Florida. Rounding out the top 10 cities are Las Vegas, Nevada; Atlanta, Georgia; Houston, Texas; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and San Diego, California.
As of 2015, Orlando, Florida is one of America's most visited cities and top tourist destinations with roughly 48 million visitors. Visitors are drawn largely to Disney World and Universal Studios. Another top destination also lies in Florida: Miami. This city boasts about 38 million tourists, several million of which come from countries other than the United States. Like Orlando, Anaheim makes the top ten cities list because of Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure Park as well as its beach access.
At number two on the list, New York City gets 47 million visitors. This city offers tourists access to the famous Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty, Times Square and the 9/11 Memorial and Museum. Chicago, the Windy City, boasts a multitude of festivals, Cloud Gate, Wrigley Field and the Art Institute of Chicago. Tourists go to Houston for the Space Center and Kemah Boardwalk, while Atlanta receives most of its visitors because of large conventions. History buffs make the pilgrimage to Philadelphia because the city is a Mecca of American history, from the Liberty Bell and National Constitution Center to the African American Museum.
