When traveling through Los Angeles International Airport, it is best to arrive at least two hours prior to your flight's scheduled departure time and to check in beforehand online. If parking in one of the LAX parking lots, be sure to hide any valuables being left in the car.
The peak travel times at LAX are between 6:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m for domestic flights, and from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. for domestic and international travel. Security lines can be particularly long at this time, so it is best to keep carry-on baggage light.
If connecting through LAX, familiarize yourself with the terminals. Traveling between some terminals requires leaving and re-entering security gates, which requires more time. Though there are buses that travel between terminals, it may be faster to go on foot in some cases.
LAX is a pet-friendly airport. There are multiple designated animal relief stations located outside on the lower level. The areas consist of water spouts, water bowls, plastic bags and trash receptacles.
It is possible to meet passengers at the baggage claim on the lower level. Curbside pick-ups are allowed at arrival areas, but curbside parking is not.
