As of 2015, motorboats and rowboats are available for rent at the Lake Cuyamaca Recreation and Park District. Full and half-day rentals are offered. Two nearby stables offer trail rides and lessons, suitable for novice riders up to the experienced horseman. Pony rides are available for small children. Overnight youth trail rides include camping out and lessons on how to take care of the horses. Special adult summer camps are held during the summer.
Art galleries in town include the Banner Queen Gallery, the Falcon Gallery and the Santa Ysabel Art Gallery, all featuring local artists. The Skagen Ranch Studio, housed in a vintage barn, offers art pieces from around the globe.
