Old Hickory Lake provides numerous options for things to do on the water, including swimming, skiing, boating and fishing. Several large fishing tournaments occur on this lake, including American Bass Anglers, Lady Bass Anglers and Crappie USA. Other activities around the lake include hiking, cycling and camping.

Built around 1800, Spring Haven Mansion includes a main house, a cabin and large grounds. Originally owned by Edward Sanders, a friend of Andrew Jackson, the home and grounds are open to visitors but mainly used for special events.
