As of 2015, visitors to Cabo San Lucas, or Cabo, enjoy deep sea fishing, whale watching, horseback riding on the beach and water sports such a snorkeling, diving and parasailing. Guests may opt to spend time at the beach, party at one of several bars or explore the dry interior.
Marlin is the fish of choice for anglers booking deep sea fishing charters out of Cabo San Lucas. Several companies, including Juanita's Sportfishing, are known for their record-breaking catches. Other sport fish in Cabo's waters include dorado, sailfish, giant grouper and several species of tuna.
Whale watching season is between mid-December and mid-June, when California grey whales winter over to mate and give birth. Humpbacks, pilot whales and several species of dolphins are also often found on whale watching tours. Whale Watch Cabo, affiliated with the World Cetacean Alliance, offers educational tours with biologists and oceanographers as guides.
Several companies offer guided horseback rides on the beach. Others offer camel ride tours into Cabo's dry interior. Other options include bungee jumping, zip lining and off-road excursions. Those preferring water sports may enjoy paddle boarding, surfing, parasailing and glass bottom boat snorkeling tours to Cabo San Lucas Bay. Waverunners, or jet-skis, are also available for rent.
