Moultrie, Georgia, hosts three major automotive swap meets each year. As of 2015, the three-day shows are held in February, May and November and feature cars, car parts, tools, literature and automotive accessories, as well as antique, collectible and performance vehicles.
The Moultrie Automotive Swap Meet and Car Corral is held at Spence Airfield, where vendors are located in 70,000 square feet of inside space and more than 4,000 outside spaces on concrete or grass. The swap meet first began in 1992. In 2012, more than 2,200 cars were on display, and more than 40,000 people attended the show. Car collectors interested in vintage vehicles and antique parts often congregate at the show to buy, sell and trade.
Additional items sold at the Moultrie swap meet are crafts, clothing, jewelry and women's accessories. Refreshments are available throughout the grounds. The area around the Spence Airfield location offers about 2,500 hotel rooms within a 28-mile radius. As of 2015, by arrangement with the city of Moultrie, camp sites are available inside the grounds for vendors. There are 50 acres of free parking space at the airfield, 24-hour security and a 5,000-foot airstrip for those who wish to travel by commuter plane.
