Preferred membership gives members two Starpoints with each approved U.S. dollar that the members spend at a hotel or resort, as well as additional Starpoint earnings for attending certain meetings and events. Additional benefits include credit earnings that go towards elite status for certain hotel and resort stays, complementary Internet service, Award Flights and Free Night Awards.

The Gold tier membership includes all of these, and the Starpoints are bumped up a bit. In addition, Gold members enjoy a 4 p.m. late check-out option, a check-in welcome gift and upgrades to enhanced rooms upon check-in, depending on availability. The membership also includes 10 stays and 25 annual nights.

In addition to these benefits, the Platinum tier membership features Select Standard Suite room upgrades, complementary high-speed access to the Internet within the member's room, Sheraton Club and Executive-level privileges, and SPG Nights Benefits. The membership includes 25 stays and 50 eligible nights per year, with possible extensions.
