China experiences snow during winter months. In fact, it can get quite cold in China in the winter, with temperatures dipping well below freezing. Even warmer regions of China sometimes experience snow in winter.
China is located in the northern hemisphere and experiences seasonal climate changes much like any other country in the northern half of the world. Because it encompasses 4 million square miles and has varied topography, the climate varies by region. In Northern China, winters generally last from December through March. In Tibet, the region of China with the most extreme climate, winter begins as early as October and lasts as late as May or June.
