As of 2015, Hopper is a free mobile app that is available for both Android and iOS phones; it searches flights to find the best deals for different locations and times. The app uses data from billions of flight prices to create a list of the best deals for a traveler's destination, notes Hopper.com. It can also notify users when prices are predicted to be at their lowest.Continue Reading
To use Hopper, customers download the app and indicate the airport they want to fly from. Add destinations to generate a summary of what is considered a good deal for the trip based on past flight prices. Users can also view a calendar that color codes days to show flight prices as "good deal" or "expensive." To watch a specific fare, customers can tap Choose Dates and enter specific date ranges. Hopper can then show whether users should "wait" or "buy now." The application can also send notifications if the price drops lower.
Android users should note that, as of 2015, Hopper does not have the Tips tab found in the iOS app, notes CNET.com. Tips displays alternative cheaper dates and airports for a specific flight. The Android version also does not allow users to purchase flights directly from the app.Learn more about Geography
