Pets are only allowed on designated sites, and 18 of the campsites are wheelchair accessible. Salt Fork State Park is the largest state park in Ohio, and offers visitors and campers picnic shelters, cottages and a lodge, all of which are available by reservation.

There are a number of activities available to campers at Salt Lake State Park, such as archery, boating, fishing, golf and hunting. There are 14 scenic trails to hike within the park.
