Visit DeltaCargo.com, and select Live Animals from the drop-down menu located under the I Would Like To Ship tab. On the next menu, select the type of animal, such as warm-blooded, cold-blooded, birds or lab animals. Click State a Rate Quote.

On the next page, enter the shipment weight, type of container and container size. Select a departure and destination airport, and a travel date. Click Get Quote.

The quote page provides quotes for general animal service and DASH service. Click Start Booking to log in and book your pet shipment. If you don't have an account, click Sign Up. On the next page, click Register Now, and complete the registration form.

Delta requires pre-booking for all live animal shipments. The pre-booking deadline is 24 hours prior to shipments within the United States and three days prior to international shipments. Animals must meet Delta's eligibility requirements.

When the pet arrives at its destination, Delta delivers it to the Delta Cargo facility within 60 minutes. The facility sets guidelines for picking up the pet.

Other pet travel options offered by Delta include the owner taking his pet as a carry-on or checking his pet. Both options require the owner to travel with the pet.
