What Is a Seaport City in Spain?

Spain, with coast on both the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea, has many seaport cities, including La Coruna on the Atlantic and Barcelona on the Mediterranean. Spain's largest port is in Bilbao on the Bay of Biscay.

Spain contains more than 3,000 miles of coastline. In the north, Spain borders the Bay of Biscay and the Atlantic Ocean with ports at Aviles and Vigo. The Atlantic coast is interrupted by Portugal and then resumes in the southwest corner of Spain, where the port of Cadiz is located. To the south and east, Spain has a long stretch of Mediterranean coast, where the ports of Alicante and Cartagena are found.
