Scotland is in the northern area of the United Kingdom. This country has approximately 800 small islands and shares a southern border with England.

Scotland has a booming tourism industry, but it also has a thriving export market. The key businesses in this country include electronic technologies, financial services, life sciences and energy. Glasgow is the biggest city in the country, but the capital city is Edinburgh. Ben Nevis is the tallest mountain in the country, and the most mountainous region is the Scottish Highlands. The most populated cities are in the area of the Scottish Lowlands, as are the majority of major cities.
