Taliesin West is a historic landmark near Scottsdale, Arizona, in the McDowell Mountains. The location is also the home of the Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture. This was the winter home of Frank Lloyd Wright, and the Taliesin Fellowship used the location as a headquarters. Built in 1937, Wright and his apprentices spent time building and maintaining the structure, which makes it a personal creation.
There are nine different tour options available including the Panorama tour, which is a one-hour tour with visits to the Cabaret Theater and Wright's private office. Another option is the Insights tour, which includes everything on the Panorama tour plus a visit to the private quarters of the Wrights' and the Garden Room. This tour lasts for 90 minutes.
There is also an Extended Insights tour, which is three hours, and includes a mid-morning tea in the Taliesin West Dining Room. This tour also includes everything on the Insights tour and a tour of a unique site in the desert. It is more of an in-depth tour than the regular Insights tour and moves at a leisurely pace.
