The Ringling Museum features several collections of items selected by John and Mable Ringling.
These include a range of antiquities acquired from the Metropolitan Museum of Art in 1928 and Asian art, such as a stone Buddhist sculpture from Gandhara and Chinese ceramics.
Ringling’s fascination with the circus is also reflected in the Circus Museum by lithographic posters, heralds, costume design drawings and fine art prints.
The museum also features decorative arts, including ancient Roman cameos and early 20th century Gilded Age tableware.
European and American art, including Italian and Flemish Baroque paintings as well as modern and contemporary art, complete the permanent collections.Learn more about Geography
