Forbes Magazine reports that out of the world's 1,645 billionaires, 172 of them are women. Walton has held the title of the world's richest woman for 4 of the past 5 years. The heiress to the L'Oreal fortune, 91-year-old Liliane Bettencourt, is the second richest woman in the world with a net worth of $34.5 billion. Alice Walton, sister-in-law of the world's richest woman, is the third richest woman in the world. She has amassed a fortune of $34.3 billion as of 2014.
