Buckingham Palace is the official residence of Queen Elizabeth. However, the Queen also has many other official residences in Great Britain at which she stays while on vacation or while travelling.
Located in London, Buckingham Palace has served as the official residence of Great Britain's monarchs since 1837. The palace has a total of 775 rooms, 52 of which are Royal and guest bedrooms. Part of Buckingham Palace is open to visitors every year. The Queen usually spends her weekends at Windsor Castle, which is the largest castle still occupied.
