Passengers on Air Canada may check-in online, through a mobile device, at an airport kiosk or at the ticket counter. Passengers must be checked in within 90 minutes if flying within Canada, 120 minutes if flying to the Mexico, United States and the Caribbean, and 180 minutes for European destinations.
Passengers can complete the online web check-in within 24 hours of a flight's scheduled departure time. They can print the boarding pass at home, send it to a mobile device or print it at an airport kiosk. Passengers can tag their bags at an airport kiosk and take them to Baggage Drop-Off. Mobile phone check-in works the same way, except the boarding pass is sent by email or an SMS message. It may also be printed at an airport kiosk.
When using airport kiosk, passengers may check in within 12 hours of a flight's scheduled departure time and print a boarding pass. The rest works the same as the online and mobile check-in. Air Canada provides a link to a list of airports that have the self-service kiosks on its "Check in for your flight" page.
No matter how passengers check in, they must adhere to specific baggage drop off times. If traveling within Canada, bags must be dropped off at least 45 minutes before departure, with Toronto City Airport, YTZ, being the exception at 20 minutes. For all other destinations, bags must be dropped off at least 60 minutes before departure.
