Other large increases included a 97.5 percent increase in the 1870 census, an 88 percent increase in the 1910 census and a 78.4 percent increase in the 1930 census. As of the 2010 census, 45.1 percent of the population identified as nonhispanic whites, with 35 percent listed as African American and 13.1 percent as Hispanic or Latino.
