Despite Texas' high population, it has a significantly lower population density. Texas has about 101 people per square mile, making it the 26th most densely populated state.
California and Texas each contain three of the most populated cities in the country: Los Angeles, San Diego and San Jose for California, and Houston, San Antonio and Dallas in Texas.
