Nigeria shares a border with many countries, including the Republic of Benin, Chad, Cameroon and Niger. Most of the southern part of the country has a coastline along the Atlantic Ocean.
Nigeria has a relatively diverse population, containing more than 500 different ethnic groups. Of the population, religious beliefs are approximately split between Christian and Muslim. Most Christians live in the south and center of the country while most Muslims live in the north or southwest.
