Knott's Berry Farm was once a berry farm that ran the very successful Mrs. Knott's Chicken Dinner Restaurant on the side. That restaurant is still there, along with other eateries, thrilling and tame rides and the Knott's Berry Farm Hotel. The Snoopy-themed property is next to the Knott's Soak City Water Park.
The Santa Monica Pier dates back to 1909 and quickly became a favored fishing spot. People still fish from the pier, but it now holds an amusement park, complete with Ferris wheel and vintage carousel, several restaurants, a trapeze school and aquarium. It is a magnet for surfers, beach lovers and people watchers.
San Diego's Mission Bay is a prime beach area that is also home to Sea World San Diego, the San Diego Zoo, the USS Midway Museum and Legoland California. Accommodation choices include posh hotels, bed and breakfasts, and campgrounds for tents and/or RVs.Learn more about Geography
