Some popular things to do in St. Charles, Missouri are visiting the nearby wineries, touring a few of the historic sites such as the Historic Daniel Boone Home and Heritage Center, shopping along Historic Main Street, and enjoying some good food. The walking tour starts in front of Missouri's first capital building and follows Main Street north to the George C. Sibley House and Foundry Art Center before crossing the street west to the McKenzie Hotel. The tour then travels south on the west side of Main Street to the Market & Fish House, Duquette House, French Colonial Brick and Eckert's Tavern. Other highlights of the walking tour include Boone's Lick Trail and the Lewis & Clark monument.
Visitors can spend time in the outdoors at a range of parks, many of which have hiking and biking paths. The Fountain Lakes Park consists of three lakes and several ponds. The north end of the parks offers a paved 1.1-mile pedestrian trail around the Kluesner Lake, while the north end has several connecting trails that wind around Moore Lake, Skate Park Lake and the Cole Creek. These trails range from .2 miles to more than 3.5 miles.
