Visitors to the Philadelphia Zoo find discounts by visiting during the off-season, presenting a military identification or bringing a group. A CityPass saves the visitor 44 percent on Philly's leading five attractions, including the zoo, as of 2015. Purchasing a zoo membership gives the visitor free admission, an option that often pays for itself in as little as two visits.
While the zoo is open most of the year, visitors in the off-season enjoy a 20 percent discount on admission prices. While the weather is often frigid, snow leopards, polar bears and red pandas are usually active and visible.
Military personnel enjoy a 10 percent discount just by showing their military identification card. They must purchase their ticket at the box office.
Visitors can purchase a CityPass online, at the zoo or at one of the other featured attractions. The pass gives the holder the benefit of skipping most ticket lines. Once a passholder visits the first attraction, he has nine days to use the rest of the tickets.
Zoo membership includes free parking for one vehicle per day and admission to the member. A family membership includes unlimited admissions for up to two adult members and six children from the household under age 18. It also includes discounts on purchases at the zoo.
