Pennsylvania Station, commonly known as Penn Station, is located in the United States at 370 7th Avenue, West 31st, 31st-33rd Streets, New York City, New York. Penn Station is a major subway station that serves commuters within the city, as well as intercity passengers from Long Island and New Jersey.
The original Penn Station's initial construction began in 1903, and it was managed by the Pennsylvania Railroad Company. It was designed by Mckim, Mead and White. The station was considered to be one of New York's architectural feats, not only for its functionality, but also for its lavish and ornate design. The station was demolished in 1964, and a new underground station was built. The current Penn Station has undergone several renovations, including the construction of Moynihan Station, which will be completed in 2016.
