Some notable state parks in Alabama are Rickwood Caverns, Gulf State Park, Cathedral Caverns and Cheaha Resort State Park. At Cheaha Resort State Park, visitors arrive at the highest point in the state. This state park offers a lodge, numerous outdoor activities and a park restaurant.
Originally known as Bat Cave, the Cathedral Cavern offers guest a beautiful entrance to the cave that resembles a church cathedral. Inside, guests enjoy amazing rock and crystal formations, including ﾓGoliath,ﾔ a gigantic stalagmite. Gulf State Park offers visitors a day at a pristine beach.
Rickwood Caverns provide evidence that it was once part of the ocean bed. In addition to a guided tour of the caverns, the park offers an Olympic size swimming pool.
