What Are Some Names of Rainforests?

Some names of rainforests include the Southeast Asian Rainforest, Daintree Rainforest, Valdivian Temperate Rainforest, Congon Rainforest and Amazon. Some of these rainforests are not as dense as they used to be because of deforestation.

The Daintree Rainforest is located on the northeast coast of Australia. This rainforest covers roughly 2,600 square kilometers and was named after Richard Daintree. Some of this rainforest is part of the Daintree National Park, while other areas are privately owned. This rainforest is home to some of the earliest plants on Earth, including the Lycopsida and Psilotopsida.

The Valdivian Temperate Rainforest is one of the largest rainforests in the world, covering over 248,000 square kilometers. The forest stretches between Chile and Argentina. Like many other rainforests, the temperature here is often very humid because of the heavy rain it receives. This rainforest is often very foggy.

The Congo Rainforest is the second largest rainforest in the world, and it covers a large area in the northern part of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. There are many species of animals that are exclusive to the Congo Rainforest, including the pygmy chimpanzee. Due to uncontrolled hunting, a number of animals living in this rainforest are endangered.
