Find a map of the wetlands at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service website under National Wetlands Inventory. The Wetlands Mapper resource provides digital and interactive data and downloadable maps of the country's wetlands.
You can not only view the wetlands using the Wetlands Mapper tool, but you can print or download snapshots of data as well. Once you open the Wetland Mapper, you can view the entire United States or zoom in to specific areas. Limit data on the map to specific areas by selecting available layers such as Wetlands, Riparian Mapping Areas, Areas of Interest. FWS Refuges and Historic Wetland Data. The map also contains color-coded data that distinguish between lakes, freshwater ponds, freshwater forested and shrub wetlands and freshwater emergent wetlands, as well as estuarine and marine wetlands and estuarine and marine deepwater wetlands.
Get access to another interactive online wetlands map at the ArcGIS website. This map of the USA National Wetlands Inventory provides information on all eight types of wetlands including riverines, lakes, estuaries and ponds. The EPA website provides wetland information with the United States divided into 10 regions. Selecting a region provides links to photos, maps and other wetland information specific to the area.
