To view a map of the seven continents and five oceans, go to Geology.com and click the World Maps button. The World Maps button is located in the upper right portion of the Web page. Select the World Maps link.
Geology.com offers a political and physical world map. A political map displays the names of countries, boundaries and territories. A physical map uses terrain relief to represent mountainous elevations and ocean boundaries. While the dark green colored areas indicate low elevations, the brown colored areas indicate high elevations.
To view a 3-D version of a world map, click the Google Earth image located in the lower left portion of the World Map Web page. Geology.com provides U.S. and world maps and daily geoscience news.
