HistoryofWar.org shows a map of the Confederate States of America in the order of their secession from the Union. All of the Confederate States were in the southeast, and the Confederacy admitted all of its members in 1861.
South Carolina was the first state to secede from the Union. It joined the Confederacy on Feb. 4, 1861, along with Mississippi, Florida, Alabama, Georgia and Louisiana. Texas joined next, on March 2, 1861. In May 1861, Virginia, Arkansas and North Carolina joined the Confederacy. Tennessee became the 11th member on July 2, 1861. The Confederacy admitted Missouri and Kentucky as well, but they were partisan battlegrounds that never came under the Confederacy's control.
