As of 2015, three of the top 10 beaches in the world are in Hawaii. According to Conde Naste, Waipio Valley Beach, Honopu Beach and Honokalani Beach rank among the most beautiful beaches in the world.
Located in Wai'anapanapa State Park and ranked sixth, Honokalani Beach boasts unique black sandy shores made of lava pebbles. The area features seaside lava tubes and sea caves carved into the lava cliffs along the shore. Honopu Beach in Kauai ranks seventh and is only accessible by water. To reach it, visitors must swim from an offshore boat or 1/4 mile from neighboring Kalalau Beach. Waipio Valley Beach on the Big Island ranks eighth. Getting there requires a hike or drive down a steep and narrow road. The beach features a mile-long black volcanic sand beach bordered by 2,000-foot cliff walls and a thick rainforest.
