Argentina is a well-developed country with a large number of exported agricultural, textile and industrial goods. Because of its diverse industrial base, highly literate population and rich natural resources, Argentina has the third largest economy in Latin America.
Some of Argentina's largest sources of income are tourism, food processing, wine, tobacco, auto parts, refinery products and pharmaceuticals. By volume, its largest sector is food processing, but it also has a rapidly growing manufacturing sector. The center of much of Argentina's industry is in Córdoba, located in the northern part of the country. It is there that much metalworking, motor vehicle assembly and auto part fabrication takes place.
