According to Forbes, some of the most luxurious homes for sale in the United States include the Fleur de Lys Mansion in Los Angeles, California and Casa Casuarina in Miami, Florida. Other homes include CitySpire Penthouse in New York, New York and The Beverly House in Beverly Hills, California.
The Fleur de Lys Mansion and Casa Casuarina are both listed at $125 million, making them the two most expensive properties on the list. Architecturally speaking, Fleur de Lys is inspired by a French châteaux and its square footage of 35,000 includes a ballroom that can fit 200 guests, staff quarters for 10 people, a private theater, and a jogging track. At 23,400 square feet, Casa Casuarina is much smaller, but some of its perks include a 54 foot-long pool lined with 24 karat gold and a private observatory. It was formerly owned by Italian fashion designer Gianni Versace, and it is currently used as a high-end hotel.
What CitySpire lacks in size, it makes up in views: the 8,000 square feet of this Manhattan penthouse, located in the top three floors of the City Spire building, include the highest terraces in the whole city. The penthouse features a private interior elevator, a 1,000-bottle wine storage, and a 20-person dining room. It is currently listed at $100 million.
Lastly, the Beverly House is the only property among those four that can be both purchased or rented. The previous owners were William Randolph Hearst and Marion Davies, and some of the amenities include several guest houses, a private nightclub, spa facilities and an 8-car garage.
