Where Is Luxembourg Located?

Luxembourg is located between Germany and France in Western Europe. This country is smaller than the state of Rhode Island, according to the CIA World Factbook.

Luxembourg was founded in 963 A.D., but it did not become a fully independent country until 1867. Because of its proximity to Belgium, France and Germany, Luxembourg has a rather stable economy. Companies in the industrial sector produce steel, rubber, chemical and other products. Luxembourg's agricultural output includes grapes, oats, barley, wheat and potatoes. In 2012, only 0.6 percent of Luxembourg's gross domestic product was used for military expenditures. L'Armee Luxembourgeoises, the army of Luxembourg, consists of male and female volunteers between the ages of 18 and 24.
