Visitors are allowed to camp within the Apostles Islands park in Wisconsin. There are 18 lakeshore areas where camping is allowed and one campground on the mainland. Camping is allowed by permit only.
Reservations for camping can be made through the National Park Service. Individual campsites can be reserved one month in advance, while group campsites for eight or more campers can be reserved beginning the second week in January.
Few campsites on the islands that are near docks are developed. The mainland campsite is a primitive site only accessible by hiking or kayaking. Campsites located further inland on the islands are minimal-environmental-impact wilderness campsites.
