Shipping centers, pharmacies, photography studios and U.S. Passport acceptance facilities generally can take and print passport photos, according to the U.S. Passport Service Guide. Those who already have a photograph can upload it to EPassportPhoto.com to generate passport sheets to print at home or at a studio.
While services vary by location, many FedEx, UPS, CVS, Rite Aid, Costco, Walgreens and Wal-Mart stores offer passport photo services. The guide advises that only select FedEx and UPS locations have passport photo facilities, and that Costco's photo passport service prints pictures within an hour and costs the least of the above-mentioned stores, according to the U.S. Passport Service guide in 2015. Many pharmacies and photo studios can also print the free photo templates generated by sites such as ePassortPhoto.com.
U.S. Passport acceptance facilities are one-stop solutions for taking photographs and submitting passport documents and are located in public places, such as post offices, government offices or public libraries. Clerks at these locations can help ensure that passport photographs meet government requirements.
According to the U.S. Department of State's passport photo guidelines for 2015, applicants must submit one recent photograph measuring 2" by 2", taken on a white background and sized so that the head measures between 1" and 1 3/8". The U.S. Passports and International Travel website provides an online template for generating acceptable passport photos.
