What Kind of Animals Live in Russia?

Some of the animals found in Russia include the Amur tiger, Amur leopard, Russian Desman, snow leopard, Oriental stork, saiga antelope, polar bear, Siberian crane, giant taimen fish and European bison. Some of these animals are on the endangered watch list due to illegal hunting, drastic changes in weather conditions and habitat loss.

Russia is home to a wide variety of fauna. Around 3,090,000 square miles of its vast territory are covered in temperate forests and woodlands that serve as the natural environment for some of the country's diverse wildlife. Other animals commonly found in Russia are hedgehogs, bats, flamingos, cuckoos, lizards, snakes, newts, salamanders, frogs, wasps, bees, spiders and scorpions.
