Where Is Jamaica?

Jamaica is an island 90 miles south of Cuba and 118 miles west of Haiti in the Caribbean Sea. The capital of Jamaica is Kingston; its latitude is 18° 00' N and its longitude is 76° 48' W. This latitude places Jamaica in Earth's tropical region.

Jamaica is in the third-largest island in the Greater Antilles archipelago of the West Indies. It is part of an arc of islands that developed from ancient volcanoes. Jamaica encompasses a mainland and several small islands that lie to the south and southwest of the island, such as Port Royal Cays and Morant Cays.
