What Are Some Islands Found on a Map of the Caribbean?

Jamaica, Curacao and the Bahamas are some islands found on a map of the Caribbean. Many Caribbean Islands are vacation spots and former British Colonies.

Jamaica is the third largest island in the Caribbean and has long been a destination for American tourists. The island has sand beaches and rainforest-covered mountains, and it is the birthplace of Reggae music and all-inclusive resorts.

The Bahamas is comprised of over 700 islands off the southeast coast of Florida. The former British Colony was a haven for pirates, including Blackbeard, in the early 1700s. The Bahamian Island of San Salvador is thought to be where Christopher Columbus first landed in 1492.
