Falmouth, Jamaica, located 18 miles east of Montego Bay, offers many opportunities to explore historic buildings constructed in the Jamaican Georgian architectural style. Visitors can also take several tours, including ones highlighting the Glistening Water Lagoon and the Martha Brae River.
In the late 18th and early 19th century, Falmouth was an affluent, busy port. Many of the buildings remain, making it one of the best preserved Georgian towns in the Caribbean. Some points of interest include the Falmouth Court House, Greenwood Great House and St. Peter's Anglican Church.
Glistening Waters Lagoon, offered as part of a guided tour, is filled with phosphorus, making the waters look lighted at night.
