One of the most recognizable indoor water park resorts in the country, the Great Wolf Lodge, has a location in the Poconos. A few of the other big-name indoor water parks in the area include the Camelback Lodge Aquatopia and the African-themed Kalahari Waterpark.
Citing itself as Pennsylvania's largest indoor waterpark, the Camelback Lodge features the Aquatopia Indoor Waterpark, which boasts 12 thrill rides, including the SandStorm, Triple Venom and Vortex. The park also has family-based rides such as the Dune Runner, Sullivan Sky Ride, the Camel Kids area with the Pharaoh's Phortress slide and Kahuna Cove water play area. A few dry attractions in the AdventureZone include a climbing wall, bungee cords and FreeFall tower.
Kalahari Waterparks owns a 100,000-square foot African-themed indoor water park in the Poconos, including both thrilling and relaxing rides. Some of the thrill rides include the FlowRider, which allows surfing in a shark- and rip tide-free environment and the Anaconda, a water coaster with thrilling drops and sharp turns. The Wild Wildebeest seats up to four companions as it slides through dark tubes and long hang times and the Tanzanian Twister spins around and then drops into a free fall.
