Costa Cruise is considered one of the most luxurious cruise brands, and the quality of the staterooms and food reflect that. Passengers electing the La Dolce Vida Suite, which means "the good life," enjoy a panoramic view, private balcony and a marble bathroom with jetted tub. Also included is a private butler who serves meals in the suite, a cocktail party with the captain and a complimentary dinner at one of the specialty restaurants.

Dining options are available around the clock. Aside from the specialty restaurants, all food is included, but alcoholic beverages are not. No alcohol may be served on board unless it is purchased on board. Even purchases in the ship's duty-free shop are held until the cruise is over. The exception is the invitation-only Farewell Cocktail Party.

Regarding airfare, cruisers that book their own flights should consider flying into the cruise port the day before and spending the night. Costa Cruises books airfare, but there may be little choice in the itinerary. Their Deviation Desk does handle special requests but charges a per-person service fee.
