According to the J.D. Power 2015 North America Hotel Guest Satisfaction Index Study from May 2015, the top five highest-rated extended stay hotel chains in North America are Candlewood Suites, TownePlace Suites, Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham, Extended Stay Average, and Extended StayAmerica. The top five upper extended stay hotel chains are Homewood Suites by Hilton, Staybridge Suites, Upper Extended Stay Average, Residence Inn, and Hyatt House.
For upper extended stay hotel chains, Homewood Suites by Hilton was a clear winner, receiving a rating of five, which indicates that the brand is "among the best." The second best upper extended hotel chain, Staybridge Suites, is only rated a three, which means "about average" according to the legend, despite the fact that the chain received only four points less on the 1,000 point scale. The chains in third and fourth place only had five and seven points less, respectively, than the category's victor, both rated three to classify them as average.
The extended stay hotel chains are a bit more balanced, with the top two rated as fives from J.D. Power and the third as a four. Extended Stay Average was indeed average at a three, and Extended StayAmerica was considered a two to belong to "the rest." However, in this category, the point difference on the 1,000 point scale is much larger, with the top chain scoring 95 points higher than the fifth chain.
