England lies in the Northern and Western hemispheres, with a small portion located in the Eastern hemisphere. The Prime Meridian is located at 0 degrees longitude in Greenwich, England and separates the Eastern and Western hemispheres. A small portion of the country, including the towns of Dover and Ipswich, are east of this line.

The Western hemisphere is defined as the area west of the Prime Meridian, but east of the International Date Line. Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales, which are part of the United Kingdom, also belong to the Western hemisphere. The equator is located at 0 degrees latitude and separates the Northern and Southern hemispheres. All of Europe is located in the Northern hemisphere.
