St. Thomas is primarily known for beach activities, such as watersports and snorkeling. However, there are also parks for families, such as Coral World Ocean Park, and an abundance of nightlife downtown and at the resorts.
Centers for watersports include Bolongo Bay, Coki Beach, Morning Star Beach and Sapphire Beach. Beaches with calmer waters that are better for sunbathing and picnics include Brewer's Bay, Lindbergh Bay, Lindquist Beach and Magens Bay. Hull Bay is the most popular beach for surfing.
Coral World Ocean Park is located next to Coki Beach. It features sea life exhibits that are often interactive, such as swimming with sea lions and feeding lorikeets. There is also an underwater observatory tower and a gallery of aquariums.
For adventurous travelers, Skydive Virgin Islands offers parachuting directly onto a beach. St. Thomas Adventure Tours offers guided snorkeling and kayaking. Mountain Top is a more tame journey, but is the highest point on the island and offers the best panoramic views. Visitors can also take the St. Thomas Skyride up Flag Hill for great views and hiking along a nature trail.
Nightclubs and bars with DJs include the Caribbean Saloon, Creations Nightclub and Duffy's Love Shack. Live music is also regularly played at a number of bars and restaurants.
