The Malecon is a beach in Progreso on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico. It a short bus ride from cruise terminals, making it a good stop for those who only have a few hours. The beach includes a crafts market, water sports, beach massages and souvenir shops. There are several restaurants located on the beach road with direct service on the beach.
There are several mangrove lagoons located around Progreso where visitors can go kayaking or take a tour to view flamingos. Golfers can enjoy playing at the El Jaguar course at the Yucatan Country Club.
