The Asbury Woods Nature Center, Arrowhead Wine Cellars, the Erie Maritime Museum/U.S. Brig Niagara, the Erie Philharmonic and Double D.A.B. Riding Stables are among the attractions in and around Erie, Pennsylvania, as of 2016. Activities at these sites range from live music performances to horseback riding.
Asbury Woods Nature Center offers several hiking trails, a nature center, the Little Woods Play Area, camps and special events. The park's 4.5 miles of trails take visitors through the forests and fields of the 205-acre property. The nature center offers classrooms and indoor displays, and the Little Woods Play Area offers a play set for toddlers, preschoolers and young elementary students. The Honey Harvest Festival, the Schoolhouse Craft Festival and Winter Wonderland are among the special events at the park.
Arrowhead Wine Cellars is a 250-acre farm close to Erie. In addition to the winery, the business also hosts special events, and provides an on-site shop for visitors that sells cherry juice and Concord grape juice.
The Erie Philharmonic provides seasonal performances of history's greatest composers, including Mozart, Beethoven and Gershwin. The symphony also offers a pop series. Double D.A.B. Riding Stables offers scenic trail rides, pony rides, parties and special events, and riding lessons. Day camps are also available during certain parts of the year.
