There are flights to Cuba from the United States. In 2015, President Obama lifted the over 50-year travel restrictions and trade embargoes between the United States and Cuba. United States citizens are required to get a visa to travel to Cuba.
The airline JetBlue recently announced in 2015 that they will begin operating weekly flights from New York to Havana, making them the first airline carrier to announce additional flights to Cuba. In 2016, the government is expected to approve up to 20 flights a day to Havana and 10 other flights to other Cuban cities. American Airlines vice-president of regulatory affairs stated that establishing charter flights from Miami to Cuba is a top priority because Miami is the center of the Cuban diaspora.
