As of 2015, the Hale Koa Hotel on Waikiki Beach offers oceanfront accommodations, the Point Fitness Center, the Heaven on Earth Day Spa, the Hale Koa Luau, the Magic of Paradise show and several dining options. This military resort is available to active and retired service personnel and their families.
The property is located next to the Hilton Hawaiian Village on the western end of Waikiki Beach. Room categories range from garden view to ocean front, and rates are determined by both category and service personnel rank. Guests have use of an on-site barber and beauty shop, a rental car desk, beach services and equipment rentals, a tour and travel desk, and a sundries store.
The Point Fitness Center offers state-of-the-art workout equipment, a sauna and a steam room. A jogging path and tennis, handball and sand volleyball courts are available outside. The Heaven on Earth Day Spa offers a full range of massages and other body treatments.
The Hale Koa Luau is held in the evenings, twice weekly, with a third show often added during the busy summer season. It's held in a secluded tropical garden and includes the traditional imu ceremony, where the roast pig is taken out of the underground oven, cocktails, full buffet of Hawaiian and mainland style foods and entertainment.
The Magic of Paradise is another evening event and includes a dinner buffet. This combination of magic and comedy is held in the Banyan Tree Showroom. The show schedule varies.
